Welcome to all Ex-Cos, Members and Affiliates. It’s the start of another term in the Singapore Chapter. I thank our past president Yue Sang and the team for the contributions in the past 2 years.

The year 2008 is a memorable year for all of us. We’ve had the first International System Safety Regional Conference (ISSRC) here in Singapore. It was a very successful event with participation from 12 countries.

This year we’ll continue to spread the system safety message. Embracing the System Safety Culture in our everyday lives will be the main focus for this term. This is to enable everyone to appreciate and practice the system safety thinking in our professional work and day to day activities. We’ll continue to hold sharing sessions (next one will be in September), conduct more in-depth courses with our international partners together with local practitioners teaching on their practices and push hard to ensure the continuation of the Regional Conference.

I’m thankful for our new and existing Ex-Cos for promising to serve for this term. Do give us your fullest support for the activities ahead.
